Often, our trail is long.  Along the way we settle.  We settle for something not quite right, or take a shortcut so we can get further down the trail.  We settle for lunch, for the job that doesn’t maximize our talents, or for the movie that is available today.

Be aware of mediocrity when you settle.

Mediocrity can sneak up on you.  Over time it can take the place of the norm.  Look around, are you in an environment where mediocrity is the norm? 

Take notice, one step at a time.  Look for others giving more than they have to.  What you will notice is, many are.  It’s a choice, if you need to contribute more look at the contributors and see their workflow and process.  Don’t settle on the important tasks.  Find a way to make a difference.
