Seth Godin’s blog states that:

“On that day, the day that everyone notices your work, approves and lets you know, then what will happen?”

We spend an incredible amount of time and psychic energy planning and working for that day.  Will it arrive?  What happens?  It’s not clear that anything will happen. 

We have all been there.  Doing the hard work, working the extra hours.  Majority of the time nothing happens on that special day.  I always say, “enjoy the code”.  Perhaps the approval of every person doesn’t need to be the goal of your work.
