Everyone isn’t going to get you

When developing a product, especially if it’s your first, you try to get validation and acceptance of everyone you show it to.  Everyone isn’t going to get it.  An old friend once told me that everyone isn’t going to get it, everyone isn’t even going to get you, no matter what you sell.

Your wares may not be for everyone.  New is not for everyone.  In fact, most will stick with the old if it is comfortable even if it is not optimal.  You don’t need everyone, unanimous acceptance.  You need enough to keep moving forward, pay the bills, and make a difference.  Then your product/ idea will spread.

So make forward progress each day and keep spreading the word.  Time and feedback will make your product better.
